Tools to Plan a STEP 1 Study Schedule

Planning a personalized USMLE STEP 1 schedule can seem intimidating especially if you don't know where to start. I have compiled a few tools you can use to make the process smoother. ?Cram Fighter ($79 for 3mos): Most med students will highly recommend this but it costs money! You can input all the resources you have into this planner and it will automatically sort it for you. If you didn’t stay on schedule, it will automatically reschedule it to the next day and alter the other tasks too. They do have FREE pdf versions of their schedule but its not “personalized”. So the only thing you need to decide is if you want to keep track of it yourself or do no work! ⁣?Osmosis Med ($270 for 6mos): Don’t get freaked out by the price, it also includes thousands of useful videos. These videos are similar to Boards and Beyond except that they have such cute and intuitive diagrams/images that will help you remember physiology and pathology. So this comes as a resource AND it also has a schedule planner! ⁣?USMLE- Rx Study Planner Excel (FREE): This is set up as a template you can fill out with your own individual info. It populates the hours for you and has a daily, weekly, and monthly view. Very good option if you want to save time and money. ⁣?Excel sheet - FREE: This is actually what I am using and I have linked my personal spreadsheet for you guys! I might switch over to the USMLE Excel once dedicated hits. I made my own and that allowed me to tailor it to my class schedule as well and it's FREE. It only took me a few hours over winter break to make it. My excel consists of my pre-dedicated schedule and a master checklist for all my resources so I can mark off if I’ve watched it. ⁣⁣This is something you should be looking at before you start your spring semester of 2nd year just so you feel prepared and it calms your nerves, like it did mine!lub dub,Shanon
