Best Podcasts for USMLE/ COMLEX Review

This one is for all my auditory learners and multi-taskers out there! Listening to study materials are a great way to "add" more hours of studying in a day and still have enough time for your busy schedule. You can listen to them while you are waiting in line, driving, walking around campus, etc. If you guys are taking Step /COMLEX 1 or have friends that are and want supplemental audio learning, keep on reading:

  1. Medflash Go: audio question and answer format where they walk you through a question and the answer choices together. I love this because it's quick and you’re testing yourself on material you’ve already learned in an active manner! I listen to this when I have a few minutes to spare and it’s super helpful. This is my top resource! I've actually gotten a few questions from here on my actual exam and the consensus is the same with my classmates.
  2. Spoonful of Sugar: Concise and straightforward summaries of high yield topics. I also love this because she asks prompting questions before she tells you the answer which allows me to think about it, and try to answer it myself. Again, anything that engages your brain will help with recall on the exam! She separates each episodes into specific topics so if your weakness is stroke, lymphoma, glomerular diseases, its all easily categorized.
  3. Goljian lectures: He is a pathologist and educator who uses humor which makes his organ system reviews easy to remember. He denotes if certain facts are high yield. These are a series of recordings from an actual lecture he taught so sometimes he points to images and you can’t see it. I roamed the internet and found this link for you which has all those images he's talking about. Again, the downside is that there is a visual component but the majority of the content can still be understood!
  4. Divine Intervention: Review of high yield topics that cover USMLE Step 1-3 and Shelf exams! Using it in any podcast app is actually a lot to sort through so if you like this resource, I would go directly on their website to listen which is better organized!

I personally do not use all of these all at one time so do not feel overwhelmed!! Some have better topics, some matched my personal schedule better. If you guys have other suggestions or questions, let me know in the comments! lub dub,Shanon
